Outstanding October

October has been good to us this year.

I've developed a new love for candied apples.  Carmel apples are ok, but carmel with chocolate and candy... Oh my.  We made them with our friends, and about a week later, I made them again with my sisters and mother.  There really is something special about fall treats.  Why do they have to be so delicious and addicting?! I will probably gain at least 10 lbs this year if I'm not careful.

In other activities, Todd and I went to Cornbelly's at Thankgiving point this year.  We have talked about going to a corn maze every year for the past 2 years, so this year I decided to make it happen.  Jonny was a good sport about it.
So the corn maze was just one of the activities that they had going on, but most were geared for kids older than Jonny.  We did enjoy they hay ride though, AND they had really amazing pumpkin spice donuts to finish everything off.

Our next activity took us south to ride the bike trail at Big Rock Candy Mountain with the Anderson Family.  It was really fun.  It is only like 5 or 6 miles long and mostly down hill. And the fall leaves and colors were absolutely BEAUTIFUL.

Last but not least, we headed up north to Logan on Tuesday because Todd was doing a presentation for one of his professors up at USU.  Afterwards, we went to the Logan Pumpkin Walk.  It was really cute.  Logan is lovely and freezing.  Todd would love to live there someday... I'm not so sure,  I have this aversion to cold weather.  I want to live somewhere sunny and warm - although I have to admit, there is something special about Logan.

After the Pumpkin Walk, Todd took me to the Coppermill Restaurant, where he worked while he was going to school.  The food was good, but about halfway into our meal, Jonny had had enough and was so ornery and tired, that I had to take him down to the car to nurse him and put him in his carseat where he fell asleep almost instantly.  This picture is before he got cranky.  He was so excited that Todd handed him his own roll.  We were cracking up.  The kid loves food so much.

That pretty much sums up our October.  Notice, I have no pictures of halloween... This is for a few reasons, 1. We talked about family costumes, but Todd and I could never come to an agreement on what we wanted to be (he hates halloween and well, it just didn't happen this year) Hence we had no costume for the Hardy Halloween Party.  Sorry about the Jen, I really did want to dress up.  2. On the actual day of Halloween, I decided I wasn't going to be a party pooper and I put Jonny in a white shirt and a jean jacket  and combed his hair to the side and he was a greaser :)  So people would get his makeshift costume, I pulled my hair up on my head and put a ribbon in it and dressed in by best 50's clothes. We didn't have anyone to take our picture since Todd was at work, so I just thought to myself that I would have Todd take one when he came home.  Meanwhile, I made dinner, and had to cut up an onion... I ended up looking like a raccoon from my mascara and well, we didn't end up taking any pictures.  Does that mean I'm a bad mom for not taking pictures of my baby for his first halloween?! Oh well.  So long October, see you next year.
