a little bit of sunshine

Jonny and I headed down to Arizona last month for my niece Josie's wedding.  Todd had to work unfortunately so he was unable to join us. Since it was just Jonathan and I, the plane rides there and back were... interesting.  Actually to be honest, Jonny did really good.  He is just EXTREMELY curious and had a little bit of a hard time sitting still.
We arrived a few days ahead of the wedding to make the most out of our vacation.  We were able to soak up a little sun, I did a temple session in the new Gilbert Temple, we went out to eat with my cousins, did some shopping, it was all good fun.
This baby loved every minute of warm weather and sunshine!  Every morning, he would wake up and head straight for the doors to the backyard just begging to go outside.  He could not get enough of it. He loved to be pushed around on the little trike, he loved to run around on the grass, he loved to sit in the rocks by the playground and pick up handfuls at a time just to feel them.

He went through withdrawals when we got back to Utah because it was so cold outside.  For a week straight he would wake up and pound on our front door and just cry because he wanted to be outside.  Anytime the door opened he would run to it to get out.  It was really sad.

This was the morning of the wedding, thanks Murph for doing Josie's make-up.  She looked lovely.
The happy couple                                                             and some sisterly love
The lovely new Temple
More sisterly love                                                               and my little date all tuckered out

Monday we went to go visit my Grandma Prince and hang out with Maren and Evie some more.
We took the kids to a little splash pad area near Maren's house.  Jonathan loved it.  He would run from one fountain to the next just laughing.  He even biffed it pretty hard once and was more sad when I took him out of the water to wipe the blood off his nose than he was about the actual fall.

so sweet.
Thank you Arizona for being so warm and inviting during cold Utah weather.  We had a great time as always.

two years

On Saturday Todd and I had our two year anniversary.  I'll spare you all the mushy details about how stinking much we are in love, but we had a really good couple days spending all day together this weekend.  Todd brought me flowers, (call me ridiculous, but I really love fresh flowers) we went out to eat a couple times, we drove up little cottonwood canyon and went to Oktoberfest (actually not as cool as it sounds due to the crazy amounts of drinking involved, but we did get some really yummy German chocolate!)  Mostly it was just fun to spend some quality time together.
I can't believe how fast these two years have flown by.

I love you Todd Niemann.  Grow old with me?

the best is yet to be

It appears that an update is due...

A few things have changed since I last was on here.  I'm a married lady (sometimes that is still weird to think about) and I LOVE it!  It is so fun to come home to our little shack and know that Todd is there or will be there soon.  That we get to talk and spend all the time we want together (when work doesn't go too late), curl up and go to bed together and then wake up to him right by my side.  It really is great!  It is so fun to share our ideas and come up with new ones together.  I'm excited to start a family together.
I sorta feel like we are playing house...

The Wedding

The Hardy Family and The Niemann Family
I'm so happy to be a part of both!

The Cancun Honeymoon
Cruisin' around Isla Mujeres

Chichen Itza and Tulum.
The ruins were awesome!  It was a really warm day but Todd and I had a blast touring with Heleman.
He was great.  He took us to see both places while teaching all about the ruins and the symbolism behind everything.  Way cool!  I would recommend it!

In between he took us to a Senote (sink hole) to swim in
and at the end of it all, we stopped on the side of the road to get some Mexican ice cream.  Awesome!
Needless to say, the honeymoon was a blast!  We missed out on snorkeling because I was not feeling great our last day, bummer. Cancun itself is ridiculously overpriced but we still had a great trip anyway.

Adventures since then...

Annual Hardy Lake Powell Trip
(warm water and sunshine... yes please!)
What a great weekend spent with my lovely family!  Cliff Jumping, Tubing (thanks for the sweet shiner Dallin boy), sleeping in our tent for the first time :)  I loved it.

Saint George Trip
My husband likes to run.  This is not something we share very often.  He runs for fun, I run... sometimes... to get some exercise and occasionally to clear the mind.  One day, I will run with him, hopefully for fun.  Although, it will not be a marathon, but maybe a half??
He inspires me.
Thank you to the Niemanns for a great weekend!

Happy Halloween at the (Brutus) Hardy Home
Don't we make a pretty stinking cute Jack and Jill?  I thought so.
All the costumes were pretty great,
although Jen, I have to admit, your family's costumes kicked trash!

Life is Good.
